FT - How To Spend It

Discerning Pink Floyd fans can wear their tour souvenirs with pride and panache, thanks to London travel and resortwear maker, Robe de Voyage, which has created elegant limited-edition silk scarves for the rock legends’ museum world tour, The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains, that lands in Rome on January 19, 2018. The exhibition will be held in the city’s Museo d’Arte Contemporanea (MACRO), which is a fitting venue as it’s located in striking distance of the Piper Club – the site of Floyd’s first Italian performance in the spring of 1968.

When one thinks of rock ’n’ roll memorabilia, it is the ubiquitous band T-shirt rather than sumptuous silk that springs to mind. But an exclusive selection of pocket squares (£160 for a set of three), handcrafted in Kolkata, India, and based on album covers, will be sold in the museum’s gift shop alongside scarves. Fans of the English band will delight in a playful Pig scarf (£145) – a nod to the iconic inflatable pink pig featured on the band’s Animals album cover in 1977. The Wall scarves (£170) feature simple, graphic brick-wall prints in cream, dark grey and clay pink.

A member of the band’s low-key circle, who had spotted Robe de Voyage’s scarf designs for the David Hockney show at London’s Tate, instigated this unlikely collaboration – the rest is neckwear history. One could say the collection offers the ultimate chic accessory for the grown-up groupie.

The Wall scarf also comes in dark grey
