Conrad Hotels & Resorts has partnered with London-based luxury resort wear brand Robe de Voyage at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island to create a bespoke collection of robes for guests staying in The Muraka.

The Muraka is the world’s first two-storey residence complete with one storey submerged into the Indian Ocean, which launched in November 2018 at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

The new robe collection is entitled ‘Sleeping in the Ocean’, and was designed by Robe de Voyage founder Jessica Linklater and inspired by the reflections of moonlight onto the waters of the Indian Ocean around Rangali Island. The print was hand painted by Linklater in her London studio before she spent time in Kolkata developing her paintings into silkscreens and experimenting with colour palettes. The final colour palette is that of dolphin blues and moonlight greys.

The ‘Sleeping in the Ocean’ collection encompasses men’s, women’s and children’s robes, as well as eye masks; each product hand woven using the softest khadi cotton from rural communities in West Bengal, India. This cotton is an especially versatile fabric, cool in summer and warm in winter, and supports traditional textile production and the local economy.
